Is nuclear warefare feasible?

I think nukes are only good for deterrence. I really can’t think of a situation where they would be useful for anything else except maybe a small nuke to bomb an underground bunker or something like that.

Seeing how at least 9 nations have nukes now (US, Russia, France, UK, China, Israel, Pakistan, North Korea, India) any attempt to use nukes as an offensive weapon would probably result in being a pariah state at best and retaliation at worst.

The US already has 7000 nuclear weapons (2000 deployed, another 5000 in reserve). Anyone who says we need more is an idiot.

What does “feasible” mean, OP? Is t possible to use nuclear weapons without destroying all human kind? Yes, that is possible. Is it possible to use nuclear weapons without killing everyone in the “enemy” country? Yes, that is possible. Is it possible for a US president to order a nuclear strike and keep his job? Yes, that is possible.

How probable any of these are is more questionable. But I have no idea whether I’ve answered the OP question because I don’t understand it.
