I get that Stefon is parody. But since all parody has a kernel of truth, I’d like to know if his shtick even remotely describes any facet of NYC club culture.
Thanks!

I think Stefon is supposed to be a play on a Club Kid. The part about the original Club Kids holding their parties in bizarre places is definitely Stefon-like, although it doesn’t look like they ever held one in the middle of the East River or inside a crashing blimp. Plus, drugs. Lots of 'em.
Was one of their clubs named Booooooooomf(9 o’s)?
Well, if Law & Order: SVU is any guide, New York has an endless supply of social clubs for all tastes and preferences.
It would be funnier to discover that they’re all held in the same place, and some poor bugger has to schedule it.
