I criticized cops.
Then to be fair I tried to make it clear that I am not against cops generally, just against the riffraff, the majority.
In that specific situation it was a cab many miles from the city listed on its door, on a major highway, with a bunch of guys in back who had obviously been partying. Their clothes were on half added, shirts half buttoned, wild hair etc. Most people who looked in that cab would have given it a second look. From the perspective of most white people at that time and place it would be a white driver and scary looking blacks. That’s just a fact. They were nice guys and one of them even gave me a CD or tape of their band, but when the cop pulled me over the subtext of his words were “did them niggas kidnap you” or something similar and every one there knew it.
Now it is much more common to see scruffy groups of people anywhere, but I will give you a parallel to make my point clear.
A few years ago a woman accidentally bumped her car into a concrete divider in D.C.
The cops were of the coward punk variety and immediately started panicking. They chased her and ultimately, when she would not stop, they filled the car with bullets. Inside with her was her baby. There was video and anybody who cared to watch could see she just wanted to get away from them.
The first news reports said “Police rescue baby” or some similar absurdity.
The police excused their cowardice by saying that she could have been a suicide bomber.
Is it possible she could have been a suicide bomber? Sure she could have been one of the 0.000 suicide bombers that target U.S. monuments on a particular day. It’s possible. Who knows.
My advice though would be to the cops that they should take the risk in the future when they see a frightened woman with a baby. Eventually one of them will turn out to be a suicide bomber but a good cop should take that risk and not shoot until he actually has reason.

I was actually watching CNN as that happened, from the very first report that “police had rescued a baby” to hours later when she was called a possible suicide bomber.
The Wikipedia page and both of the articles you link try to portray a series of events and possible motive that simply are not accurate.
I remember very well the video that showed her frantically trying to drive away and police chasing her. A more recent article mentions that the bullets that killed her hit her in the back.
Any news story can be managed when the audience is not willing to simply look at the facts. There was absolutely no need to shoot her and if the cops had been a little more seasoned there wouldn’t have been a baby left without a mother and a lot of ludicrous insinuations made by police trying to cover the fact that they killed an utterly harmless woman.
Only you know the secret truth.

Interestingly the last link is the only reference I could find to the “police saving baby” nonsense even though Wolf Blitzer uttered the phrase perhaps a dozen times.
That she was not a threat, and should reasonably not have been perceived as a threat.
She was effectively armed, with a motor vehicle. She did crash security barriers. The Secret Service and Capitol Police are supposed to respond forcefully to this. More recently they have come in for criticism for not taking down a WH grounds invader fast or hard enough.
Two points.
First, my original point. What would have happened if the police had been men instead of gangster boys, and had not killed her? Would she have detonated the suicide vest she didn’t have? Probably not. They could have just spiked her car and stepped back a few feet. It is not that hard to disable a car and those police have the latest gizmos to do that.
Second the media articles that you mentioned clearly try to portray her as some threat that she simply wasn’t, in order to justify killing her. People like you who always back up who ever has the biggest guns get no respect from me. The truth, the simple truth, is that there was no need to shoot her. Spin it, distort it, smoke it, chew it, truth is truth no matter how fast you shovel shit to try to cover it up. A young dead mother for no reason and a lot of punks trying to fabricate justification.
