That lady on Green Acres was Eva Gabor, Zsa Zsa’s sister.
Yes, she died in 1995. The third, less well known sister, Magda Gabor, died in 1997, somewhat famous for her socialite ways and six marriages. Zsa Zsa nine times, and Eva five.
Odd that of those 20 marriages only one child afaik: Francesca Hilton, who passed in 2015.
That’s still pretty random. If you don’t think so, tell me the name of any member of Judge Ito’s family.
Didn’t they used to be called “Society Dames”?
Well her and Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt did adopt a bunch of children; except that those children were all adults who paid $2,000,000 a piece so they could have his aristocratic title (which technically is only a surname, not a real title). Just like Herr Lichtenberg did with Princess Marie-Auguste of Anhalt.
It seems to me that being famous because one’s father is famous is just another version of being famous for being famous. Such a person didn’t do anything to merit the fame other than being born into the right family.
If a person who’s FFBF ever does something notable, does he or she lose membership in the club?
Yeah, I definitely think of Eva Gabor as an actress. Green Acres is one of my favorite shows, for it’s surrealistic and absurd comedy, and I think Eva Gabor was fantastic. I’m kind of sad to see she was never even nominated for an Emmy, let alone a winner. She should have gotten an Emmy for her work on Green Acres. And she acted in a lot of TV shows and movies both before and after Green Acres.
Now, Zsa Zsa was known more for simply being famous, IMO, not for acting. I don’t think the third sister counts as even being famous.
Assuming non-humans count, my vote is for Mona Lisa. Yeah, I’m one of those people that doesn’t “get” the painting. Coincidentally, I think the first time I encountered the term “famous for being famous” was in Straight Dope: Why is the Mona Lisa so famous? - The Straight Dope

In May 2002, “Paris and Nicky Hilton” appeared on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update. They were played by Kirsten Dunst and Maya Rudolph, and they were introduced as “New York socialites and Maxim cover girls.” This was before the sex tape appeared in 2003. So, she was known for something, I guess, at least by a segment of the population, before the sex tape.
I agree, the Mona Lisa is a nice portrait by a master. There as hundreds as good or better than few have heard of.
The Virgin and Child with St. Anne, Virgin of the Rocks- both by Leonardo are actually better.
Well, there is Mrs. Ito.
How can anyone watch one of Zsa Zsa Gabor’s films and think of her as an actress?
She was definitely the first person to be famous for being famous.
Probs not the same thing, but fame whores who stop at nothing to get into the history books goes back at least to 356 BC, when a guy called Herostratus burned down the Temple of Diana at Ephesus deliberately to be remembered in history. History trivia fans know the temple as one of the original seven Wonders.
It was made illegal ever to say his name (and ‘herostratic’ means to get famous via a criminal act).
Dude got pipped anyway, since another event of 356 ended up eclipsing his ill-sought fame.
But hey, it’s almost 2017, and people still know about him.

I don’t know why people are so often on about how Zha Zha Gabor was famous for being famous. Lots of people were famous for being famous before her — Lily Langtree, Little Egypt, and so on. It’s just that she’s better known for it.
She’s just famous for being famous for being famous
Lillie Langtry started out as famous for being famous, but she became an actress and producer. I don’t know enough about her career to say whether she was an actress or an “actress.”
There were at least three Little Egypts, and they were all famous for being belly dancers.
