Does Retin-A medicine (topical cream) include any animal fats or other animal products? If so, what are they?

The cream may or may not be, as it contains stearic and myristic acids which can come from either animal or plant sources.

Were I the head of a major pharmaceutical manufacturing facility I’d prefer to use compounds from plant sources wherever possible. With animal products you always have to worry about prions or viruses or some such nasty slipping through QC on you.
