Is the BBQ Pit a seperate reality?

You mean the reputation of your anonymous Internet message board account in the eyes of other anonymous message board users?

I think the Pit ought to be taken at least a bit in the spirit of “playing the dozens”. It’s more fun when it is over-the-top and creative. Just saying “fuck you” or calling someone a troll is boring. Saying “you are such a massive ass that Thanos had to snap his fingers twice to get rid of you” is more in the spirit of things.

PS - I stole it off YouTube.

This actually sums it up pretty well.

On the contrary. If you pit someone unjustly and without facts to back it up, it can backfire, and you can end up getting, for lack of a better term, “reverse pitted”. YOU end up the object of derision instead of the person you originally pitted.

Them’s the best pittings!

OTOH, plenty of people manage to come across as assholes outside the Pit, too, even without using Pit-approved insults. We assholes have a way of making our presence felt.

The Pit is basically IMHO with saltier language. Plenty of good conversations go on there.

The chairs are comfy if worn, the lighting subtle, and no-one complains about my cigar smoke. I’m pretty quiet there but its a nice place to visit.
