Is the Cartoonist Karen Ellis still alive?

Karen Ellis, the prominent web cartoonist/autobiographer, & author of the once-popular strip Planet Karen suddenly stopped published her strip, after announcing that she was going to an operation the next day.

Last strip
Is Ms Ellis still alive?
The World would be a little less cheerful, if she has left us.
Does anybody know?

Her last strip was in 2011. Her last Twitter posting was this year, in April. I don’t think she died as a result of her 2011 medical procedure, which (according to her FB page) was eyesight-related.
