Psalm 118:22 The stone that the builders tossed aside has now become the most important stone.
Acts 4:11 He is the stone that you builders thought was worthless and now he is the most important stone of all.
Consider that these verses were written in different times by different people, and yet Psalm 118 predicted what happened in the much, much, much later Acts 4:11
If atheists could SEE that the Bible predicts what will happen that would be the physical evidence that they need.
However Christians do not need this as their only evidence. We know how it feels to live for God.
Speaking as a Jew, I’d rather Christians started living for God – or for their fellow man, or enlightened self-interest, even. All sorts of alternatives, really.
Or, alternatively, the authors of the new testament knew of the old testament and shaped their writing to fulfil parts of it. That’s hardly an impressive prediction.
Hey, that’s a great idea! How about you make a prediction based on the bible. A falsifiable, specific prediction.
And schizophrenics know how it feels to be God. Or so they claim. Personally, I think they’re full of crap, but that’s just my opinion.
For a cruel, vindictive bigot who condones slavery and is both willing to condemn me to eternal torture for the crime of not believing he exists and created a world where every single piece of evidence we have indicates that his holy book is not an accurate depiction of reality? I’d rather live for Hitler - at least we know that genocidal asshole was real!
Man, I spent 5 minutes googling this and already know that this wasn’t a prediction. It was a quote. Acts 4:11 quotes Psalm 118:22 by applying it to Jesus.
It’s saying “Hey, remember that awesome line in Psalm 118? The one about the rock? It totally applies to the J-Man. They threw him aside and he’s, like, totally the cornerstone, amirite?”
Yes. I believe that there are genuine biblical predictions/prophecies of historical events, including the life of Jesus, but this is a piss-poor example.
Nah, if the Gravity people ran Wisconsin, there would be fewer complaints. I mean, who doesn’t want to be governed by George Clooney and Sandra Bullock?
If FrederickJones is all that the anti-gay-marriage side can come up with, then I’d say yes, the debate is over. In that it would be a comical misuse of language to call what he does “debating”.
