Is the latest popular diet book "Ultrametabolism" any good?

I’m noticing this book advertised everywhere, and I’ve had several people mention it to me. Having skimmed through it, I’m not too impressed, but I thought I would see what some of you thought. Has there been any science to back up his claims? How much of his “research” was funded by the health food store lobby?

A lot of it seems like good advice, but he makes executing it awfully difficult.

And this is probably in the wrong forum. I seem to have a knack for that lately.

Amazon Reviews

From looking briefly at what’s on Amazon, it looks like it might be worth looking at.

But the Amazon reviews might be influenced by all the press. I guess I’m looking for something a little more critical.

Actually, I was looking primarily at the editorial review and the table of contents (but I didn’t communicate that at all, so of course no one knew). It sounds like the author is aware of the work of Drs. Lowery and Berardi, who I consider to be pretty much the top nutritional gurus for athletes/lifters.

What books of theirs do you recommend?

I’ve never seen any of their books. You can see some of Dr. Berardi’s writings at his website.
