Is the NAACP a racist concept?

The Shirley Sherrod case might give one pause to consider that the NAACP might be as racist as Mark Fuhrman.

They threw Shirley ‘under the bus’ so fast it made a sonic boom. The rush to judgment on their part (and it was THEIR tape!!!) is particularly galling.

Seg of AG Vilsack has been very public in making amends to Sherrod, but it apparently is not ‘PC’ to hold the NAACP to a similar standard, which implies those who adjudicate such matters don’t expect them to be ‘capable’ of it.

Where is the racism?

Indeed . . .

Um… are you suggesting that the NAACP is prejudiced against blacks?

Racist? No. Racialist? Sorta.

Look, a National Association for the advancement of [del]Colorless[/del] [del]Clear[/del] White (that is, Bleached) Persons need not be racist in its manifesto, either.

I used to think I’d love there to be a NAAWP, there are a lot of white people who could use someone in their corner. Maybe fraternal organizations used to do that, sorta. But I think in this country such a group would attract racists.

Blacks in this country tend to process race differently. Serious black racists, while they do exist, haven’t been able to co-opt the NAACP that I can tell.

They were apparently prejudiced regarding at least one.

(or I might just be making a point about ‘human nature’, and also pointing out that that ‘point’ is lost on some of the folks who make a point about pointing that out in regards to OTHER people)

It would be nice if somebody tackled the problem of mediocre white dudes like the Bush sons who clutter up colleges.

Those problems take care of themselves. I don’t think they went to class much. Well, not W anyway.

Here’s one way:
