That’s my question.
I don’t believe so and I’ll start us off…I’m subscribed to 10,286 (now 10,287).
Whoa! Nothin’ gets past you. I thought I had a lot at 80. Underachiever, me.
Back when they added the time limit to searches, vanity searching (searching for your name) in order to find threads you posted to didn’t work as well. You’d search for your name, click on a post, then do it again, but be told you had to wait. And, something tells me it started out at 5 minutes. The workaround was to change a setting in the control panel: Go to User CP>Edit Options, scroll down to Default Thread Subscription Mode and change it from Do Not Subscribe to one of the others. Typically “No Email Notification” or “Instant Email”.
By changing the setting to No Email Notification, I, as you’d suspect, get no email, but I click on User CP at the top and it shows me all the threads I’ve posted to with new posts…I can click that all I want, never times out, no waiting.
It’s been like that for so long, I, and many others, have thousands or tens of thousands of subscriptions piled up in there. It’s actually a really nice board feature. And a nice little extra…when I come here, all I have to do is type s-t-[down arrow]-[enter] and it takes me right to that page. It’s the first or second thing that pops up in my URL bar since I go there so often (Firefox says a hair over 20k times, but I don’t now how long since that’s been reset).*
Anyways, yeah, you can have a lot of subscriptions, you’re not going to hit a limit at a 100 or 200 or a thousand or anything, it that’s what you were worried about.
Use the feature, it’s a really good way to not forget about threads you’ve posted to.
*all that muscle memory is why I put my browser in private mode when others are using it. They go to different websites and I can’t type one or two letters and get to mine.
I agree. It’s the best way.
14,137 is possible.
ETA: make that 14,138.
