Is there a realtor on the board that is willing to help me?

I just need help with a little research or need to be pointed in the right direction and am lost. Anyone?

Could you be a little more vague?

I’m not a realtor and I’m not willing to help, so I could at least play devil’s advocate, if that would help.

Sorry. I just need to know if there is a way to get a realtor that is bilingual; i.e., fluent in Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi. Right now I have called several realtors with the correct names, but none of them can speak the languages, and my Dad cannot navigate through an English sentence without a map. I was hoping maybe some realtors might have access to a database. My cousin is being flaky.

Do a search on Google for “realtor [your metro area] hindi”

I just did a search for “realtor cleveland hindi” and got this guy. You should be able to find someone.

I think Annie Xmas is a realtor. Perhaps you could PM her.

The three most important things in finding a bilingual realtor: location, location and location.

What’s your location?

People, people, people…

It’s Realtor. Come on now.

I am in Albany Ny. I am looking for a realtor in Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, Beacon, or Kingston. Really the entire Hudson Valley is OK.

I will try some more google searches.

And I know about Annie Xmas but I’d rather have her offer before I go and PM her and make her feel all obligated.

This woman can probably help you. Just don’t ask her to help you set up a Web site

You can find a few more by searching here. Select your cities and at the very bottom, choose Hindi from the Languages dropdown.

I just talked to Mrs. Bhargav. I knew her, from years past, and she remembered me faintly.

I’m a CCIM and a commercial real estate agent, but to be frank this really isn’t a real estate specific question, nor does it have a ready one stop solution. Your best bet is simply to identify the various local boards of Realtors in the areas you designated, and ask them to send out a group email or to forward your email (with your responding address) to all the brokers and agents in their respective boards, and asking if there are any hindi etc. speakers. You will have to make several phone calls or emails, but at least you can cover many agencies this way vs calling a bunch of individual brokerages.

A few minutes googling the local real estate boards in those counties will give you the contact websites you need.

You will get a quicker response if you ID the various real esate agencies themselves and email the agency broker, who will know if any of their agents speak indian dialects, however there are dozens and dozens (possibly hundreds) of agencies in the relatively large area you specified.

@ OP, why don’t you just let your Dad live with you. That would be much easier on him.

Gah! twitch

Might it be simpler to find an English speaking realtor and translate for your father? Maybe you’ve already thought of that and there’s a good reason you’re not going with that.

I think actually it’s REALTOR!

We have multiple problems with our relationship, but mainly it’s because A) prying info out of my dad is like getting water from a stone; he never tells what he actually needs, and the realtor might as well get paid for trying to get it out, and B) I am fairly fluent in conversational Hindi but I don’t know enough of the terms of house buying in Hindi to translate. After all, I never had much formal training!
