Hijack, it’s funny that if someone hates a person and later on it comes out the object of hate is Jewish suddenly one is an anti-semite. A seething National Socialist preparing boxes of Safeguard for the rise of the Fourth Reich.
Hitler had to be the best, and worst, thing that ever happened to Jews because they can play the “everyone hates us” card and everyone will run to their defense without realizing people, regardless of religion, can be hated. Same goes for people who hate Israel, if someone hates Israel then they automagically hate Jews of any stripe.
I hate Israel but I also hate Palestine. Nuke the everliving fuck out of that area and whomever wants to live on the remaining glassy plain can live there. After all their religions are not about idolatry and having a place like Jerusalem and what it represents to their religions, and others, is a kind of idolatry.
That felt good.
More liberal states do not (typicaly?) have those sorts of issues. . . . (Yah!) I know of a number of alternative religion shops within just a few miles of me and they have been there for quite some time without any problems.

I have not heard of too many acts against Muslims except for a few idiots down south of the Mason-Dixon line, from what I gathered most people realized it was only a few idiotic sects of Islam that where perpetrating these actions and that the Islamic community in general is not to blame.
::shrugs:: Then again, as I said, I live in a liberal city, no idea how the republican parts of the nation are handling things. 
Well, where I live in Arkansas we have a pretty big mosque (did I spell it correctly? it looks wrong) and a large group of Muslims from various countries that go to ASU. Since 9-11, I’ve heard a few more “stupid raghead” jokes than usual in certain quarters, but not much. So far, to my knowledge, there haven’t been any real attacks against Muslims or “Muslim-looking” people. Actually, the last one I remember around here happened during Desert Storm–a cop stopped a Middle-Easterner (I think he was an Iraqi) for speeding or something and beat the living shit out of him. 
Maybe there are enough students here from Indonesia and other parts of the Middle East (:rolleyes:) who contribute to the local economy that the communities around here can’t really get away with waging any smalltown wars of prejudice against the Muslims. The real religious minorities here-abouts–Catholics, religious Jews, atheists, Wiccans, Satanists, and people like me–aren’t as lucky because nobody needs us.
I’ll (predictably) put another vote in for Scientology here. For good reason. But I think Mormons, Jehova’s Witnesses, and Christian Scientists take far more flak than they deserve. As do Atheists.
I’d also like to say that Tiburon makes quite a good point. Lawyers tend to be insulted far more than they really deserve. Although others may think difficulty, I’m certainly thankful for the vast majority of them.
I saw a teaser for a “special report” on the NBC news tonight, about molestation of kids by clergy… the voiceover and the floating headline included “…and it’s not the Catholics !”
