Honestly, I can’t think of any “projects” other than the “Alan Parsons Project.” (And I have a vague familiarity with the Octopus Project). Are there really that many out there?
Joe Perry graced the world with The Joe Perry Project during his years apart from Aerosmith. Sucky? Dunno, but it clearly didn’t bowl the world over.
The OP hasn’t drifted back around to say which ones do totally suck. Alan Parsons Project is the biggest name on the list, so I assume that’s one he had in mind.

My old band was called The Bobby Boston Project (my bandmate and I came up with that). The name sucked, but we didn’t. 
I thought that the Laramie Project was pretty good.

i wish there was a way to show these videos to the world. they were hilarious. they used to be on youtube but it was taken down. why? i have no idea. it’s not like TLC is running reruns of it or even releasing it on DVD anytime soon.
