As was mentioned about smoke, a casino needs a lot of make up, which means that the fans are going to be on and circulating all the time, which makes it feel colder. Also, I used to live in the Central Valley in California and 106 isn’t uncommon. At that point, 90 feels cold at first. I doubt the casino was bellow 68, I would guess 72, but near zero humidity, which also makes it feel cooler.
Since the casinos are known to control the environmental “experience” to the Nth degree (no pun intended), I suspect they have done studies and have found that there is an ideal temperature where people will spend the most money. So that’s the one they use.
Don’t laugh. People can be subtly persuaded for a lot less.
How did we exist before air conditioning? Why do we see it as a neccesity. Did people drop n the streets in the old days?
Air in casinos helps keep customers alert enough to keep playing.
Buildings were designed differently, to make hot weather more bearable. Fans were popular, as were shade trees. Yes, people died from the effects of heat. They also were less productive as the temperature increased.
