I just heard a live version of Calling All Girls that is quite inferior to the studio version. Obviously, I haven’t heard everything, but Queen seems to be the rare band where everything they performed live kicked ass versus the studio version.
I have yet to hear a live version of “The Prophet’s Song” that is as good as the studio version.
I heard a version of Sweet Lady (from Night At The Opera) from the free concert they played at Hyde Park when the album was new. It was very rough. I don’t think they did it much live after that.
I saw it on the bonus materials from the DVD of Classic Albums/ A Night At The Opera.
I have yet to hear a live version of Brighton Rock that has the correct cadence and exact vocal lines that the studio version has. Every live version I’ve heard has been incredibly sloppy.
Is it just me, or have the Queen Flood Gates been bust wide open. I hear them everywhere now, on several commercials, radio, in my head, coming out of the drain pipes…
Enough all ready!
