OK, I know this is kind of a dumb question but I keep bugging myself about this and I have to know: Is there really a computer or a type of computer called a Gibson or was that entirely created for the movie Hackers?

I knew about the GRC but I didn’t know which came first. I kind of thought the GRC might’ve named itself as an homage to the movie but maybe it was the other way around. Do you know how old they are?

The Gibson in the film Hackers was probably a homage to author William Gibson author of hacker/cyberpunk fiction such as Neuromancer, Count Zero and others…
