Is this a bug in Firefox 2.0?

Since upgrading to Firefox 2.0, I occasionally get this: I’ve scrolled down a page and click on a link, and instead of being taken to the link, the browser flips back up to the top of the page I’m on. It’s very annoying.

It doesn’t happen every time, and I haven’t been able to find any circumstances that cause it consistently.

It happens on both of my computers, so I don’t think it’s a problem with one particular installation. At first I thought it might be related to the gestures plug-in that I installed shortly after upgrading, so I uninstalled it. But that didn’t fix it, and it happens on a computer that never had the plug-in.

Has anyone else seen this? Could it be something other than a bug in Firefox? Should I report it to Mozilla?

Yes it’s a bug with caret browsing (having a cursor present on the page), and it’s been reported. I got rid of through Tools-Options-Advanced-General-deselect ‘always use the cursor keys…’ (or just press F7).

Thanks, G-man!
