Is this a homeopathic bathroom cleaner?

We got this bottle of “LA’s Totally Awesome Bathroom Cleaner” at the dollar store yesterday, and then started wondering what (if anything) the active ingredient might be. The label says “No Acid, No Ammonia, No Bleach, Non-Flammable.” (That last would seem to rule out alcohol and other organic solvents.)

I thought at first it might be something alkaline, since that’s about all that’s left, but then I read the little blurb at the top of the label:

“Actually puts cleaning power into plain ol’ water ®”

Sounds homeopathic to me!

Does anybody know what’s really in it? The company is Awesome Products Inc. in Buena Park, California.

There could just be some sort of mild detergent.

It might be a variant on Awesome® Cleaner, which is orange oil (limonene) based and somewhat alkaline.
It might be a knockoff. The only place I find the phrase “LA’s Totally Awesome Bathroom Cleaner” is on ebay.

It could be a drop of ‘Dawn’ type cleaner to make water ‘wetter’

And it could contain alcohol as long as it’s diluted below the point of flamability.

Everybody’s got a web presence these days. From their FAQ:

So, like lazybratsche said, just a mild detergent.

H2O aka hydrogen-dioxide.

That explains everything.

I just tossed a bottle of LA’s Totally Awesome Power Oxygen Base Cleaner in the recycling bin. Upon digging it out I see that its active ingredients are sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate.

All it is is a simple oxygen bleach. I don’t know if the all-purpose cleaner is the same.

Thanks for the replies! Zyada and I had both done a quick search and missed their site.

Pity, though, that it has actual active ingredients. If it was homeopathic, I could just keep adding water when it got low.

Dihydrogen monoxide , not HO[sub]2[/sub]. It can kill you.

But if you did that it would only get STRONGER! Don’t want to overpower things here.

My wife use it on stains in clothes. I needed a shower cleaner today and we were out. I saw the bottle of Awesome and read the instructions and notice it didn’t supply total ingredients. I mixed according to label and after spaying the shower. I could tell some was interfering with my breathing.
I went back to the bottle and found it list 2-B Butoxyethanol.

Did you do that on the advice of Bob Barker?

Unlike homeopathic medicines, homeopathic cleaning fluid (i.e., plain water) is a fairly effective cleansing product in many circumstances.

I’ve got this great idea for a homeopathic rehydration drink, involving diluting a drop of water in a 100 gallon barrel of water, then repeating the process a hundred times.
Anyone want to invest in this sure-fire plan?

Then freeze dry it…It’s a sure fire winner.

Eh. It’s a loser. I mean I’m assuming you’re going to have to bottle it in some way and who would be dumb enough to buy bottled water when you can get it right from the tap?

No, no, no. In order to realize the rehydrating benefits of homeopathically prepared water, you have to dilute it in something else.

I recommend ethanol.

“High concentrations have a narcotic effect”. Oh, great - not content with chugging bottles of cough syrup, dunderheads are going to flood the ER rooms after snorting Awesome!

Yeah, I bought some of this hoping for a miracle cleaner, but - no. I started coughing and wheezing after trying it out on soap scum, but alas, no narcotic effect. I’m putting a bit in each wash load to get rid of it little by little.

No, no, the thing you dilute is supposed to be something that causes that which you’re trying to cure. So you need to find something that causes dehydration, and then dilute that.

I’ll dilute a lit match in a hundred gallons of water, then repeat that one hundred times. Will that do?
