Is this a named figure of speech?

I just went through the figures of speech listed in Wikipedia (no linky; tough), and I could not find an entry for a rule that serves as it’s own example. Here are two:

  • The passive voice should not be used.

  • A preposition is not a word to end a sentence with.

I used to know a lot of these example rules, and I’m sure I’ll think of a dozen more as soon as I post. Is there a formal name for these?
