I didn’t realise that cops had a dry sense of humor.
*“A half-full bottle of vodka was found in the SUV, but no breath test was administered because police had no indication that Clarett was intoxicated, Woods said.” *
This after a lengthy police chase that included illegal u-turns, swerving, running over police spike strips, resisting arrest, carrying four loaded weapons, wearing a bullet proof vest, spitting at officers and kickin’ the shit out of the transport vehicle enroute to the station.
But…no…reason…to…test…for…alcohol…chocking back giggles Hardeee Har-Har!!!
On the way back from lunch I heard on the radio he was apprehended in the vicinity of a woman who is scheduled to testify against him on the first set of charges. How dumb/messed up is this guy?
I actually like that they didn’t prove/disprove that he was impaired with alcohol at the time… should make the charges for resisting much more concrete. (as opposed to the actions of a drunk).
I’m also guessing that the cops paid attention to his physical actions after the chase as an indication of sobriety.
Another Q; whatthefuck was he doing out of jail awaiting the trial for armed robbery?. A guy with his track record should not have been allowed to post bail. And where did he get those funds??
Uncommon, people charged with murder routinely make bail. I read that bail was set at $50,000 (and since raised to $1.1 million). Someone signs over their house to the bail bondsman, Clarett is free to be a chump.
I must ask why the hell this story keeps getting covered in the sports section? This is not sports news. The guy is a thug and an idiot. The fact that he played college football neither accounts for nor excuses his behavior.
However, the audience most interested in his behavior are the people who follow sports–otherwise he is simply one more anonymous thug who gets two inches of column on page three of the local paper or 38 seconds of video on the local TV news.
Sports fans are defintely interested in this news, to see hoe far he will fall. Clarrett is quicjly catching up to Lawrence Phillips although he hasn’t played in the CFL yet.
