Okay, so skill is all-encompassing. It is so general, that at the end of the day if I were to describe you something like “that guy is all-round skillful”, what does it really mean? You would probably ask, “skillful at what?”
So, is there really a definition by which we can quantify skill, or is it a qualitative matter?
I put forward this answer:
Skill is the accurate undertaking (to a determined level) of a task or set of tasks that are repeatable and therefore verifiable, with an eye on the level of precision achieved each time the task(s) are undertaken.
With this definition, general skill seems to be underpinned through the accomplishment of (unmentioned) specific tasks, and the accuracy involved in performing them.
So can I say this is what skill really is, accuracy? Or does it always have to be qualitative?
