In this picture of Jessica Ahlquist, is she lecturing from behind bulletproof glass? Or do they just make lecterns out of transparent acrylic for stylistic purposes? I’ve never seen a transparent one; all the ones I’ve ever seen were made of wood, or occasionally metal. I’m guessing that it’s not bulletproof, because if it were, there would be a partition that extends to cover her head like the ones that I’ve seen political figures use.
It’s just acrylic.
It’s a style choice. Also, I think the partitions that cover a politician’s head are the screens that teleprompters project onto, not a bullet-proof screen.
