Is this ebayer being unreasonable?

OK, fair enough. I think you went above and beyond the call of duty to make things right, and you just got stuck with some hardcase with a wild hair up his ass. If you get a negative, I agree with the Doper who advised you to just start over with a fresh, clean eBay account. I have 239 positive feedbacks, but if you only have 10, starting over should be a snap.

My wife recently started selling on ebay and had a similar issue come up. She resolved the problem and during the conversation the question was raised about her changing user names. She explained that the account had been set up years prior just to get her feet wet. She never bought or sold anything. When she started selling for her company she changed user names. The woman proceded to tell her that the user name switch turns off many bidders and this was a bad sign as far as she was concerned. I would think twice about switching user names and would definitely contact an ebay representative for advice on this matter before proceding.

I feel you acted very professionally. I’m at 100% pos with a whopping 7, yes seven, purchases!!

Well, I certainly would consult with someone before starting a new account, but it doesn’t look, for now, like it’s going to be an issue. I mean, he closed the dispute page stating that a satisfactory resolution had been reached. So far, he hasn’t left me any feedback, and I’m hoping it’ll stay that way.

No, not switch user names- start all over with a new user id. If so, no one (but you & eBay) knows about your prior account. Perfectly kosher.

You could knock me over with a feather! He just left me very good feedback! He said “Great ebayer. Sent refund after mistake on her part. Would buy from again. A+++”. Damn!

See what happens when you do the right thing.

Wow, I’m stunned. Happy for you, but stunned nonetheless.

And when idiots have time to calm down. That’s great news.
