is this joke offensive?

Q: What do you never say to a pregnant woman?

A: ‘You have no conception…’

Pregnant or not, this joke isn’t even mildly offensive. It’s a FOOD JOKE fercrissakes! I’d have gone for it.

I was going to say “tasteless” but we all know curry has plenty of flavor.

Ha! That was funny too!

Well I’m 8 1/2 months pregnant and I think it’s funny.

Of course, I just wrote a birth plan that includes a stop at the Indian restaurant for takeout on the way to the birth center (so I can have Chicken Tikka Masala and papadums as soon as the post birth manic hunger hits)

Well, as it turned out we ordered pizza tonight so no curry jokes. Instead, I told the story about Laozi. His name in Chinese means ‘Old Boy’. Legend has it he got that name because his mother was pregnant with him for 60 years. When he was born he had white hair and a beard.

I’m glad your sister still found the dead baby jokes funny after her second miscarriage… :dubious:

My entire family has a strange sense of humor.

I would have found it funny.

Of course, I just went off on my husband over the phone about milk, so maybe I’m not the one to ask. (Yes, I apologized. I overreacted. I just wanted my damn milk without being questioned!)

Oh, and yes, I’m pregnant and hormonal, but it doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a joke. I’ve been making jokes about how my kid’s going to come out singing showtunes because that’s about all I listen to (besides NPR during the day). I really hope I’m having a girl.

E.

I dont think its offensive. Mind you, I have no tact WHATSOEVER. Might want to keep the funnies to a minimum around pegnant ladies, though… Going by past experience…
