I am a fan of a certain sports team. I need a new wallet and the idea of a wallet with their logo is appealing. Problem is they don’t offer it. In fact none of the teams in the league offer a wallet.
The TOS of the website says the images can be used for non-commercial use.
If I took the image of the logo from the site and used it on a single wallet for my use would that fall under non-commercial use?
But there is difference… eg Disney, does not grant license for non-commercial use.
Disney enforces copyright over each and every copy, no matter how non-commercial the use is. (They will say using a single frame from a movie is still making an illegal copy … )
Point is, the league gave license for individuals to make copies for non-commercial use! The OP can feel licensed to commission an artist/printer to produce the artwork for her own use.
It should be all right, but of course Zazzle can refuse to do anything at their own discretion - I can’t make them agree to do it !
Well initially my order was declined then I was able to get a letter from the team saying I had permission to use the image so they approved it the second time.
