I picked this thing up at Goodwill today. I’m not sure if it’s complete. Looks like the bottom of a Moka (sp?) pot with a steamed milk fitting.

The “steamer” in the URL is just a name for the pic while in my hard drive. I don’t want a file full of “MVC-004blah blah blah”
Thanks
That, sir, is a Cappucinatore.
I think you’re allowed to call it a steamer or a frother if you’re more comfortable with that.
Larry Mudd is right. But uhm whatcha going to do with half a Moka?? You need the top part to make coffee (okay am sure you knew that) or steam milk (bet you knew that too). So?
So now I know what it is called. Thanks Larry. I searched Google and couldn’t find much in English. I speak a little German but not enough espresso jargon. Didn’t really find anything on an old “manual” Cappuccinatore.
Chattywine- I did not know if I needed the top part. I thought this may be a “stand alone” kinda thing, if only for frothing milk. I really wasn’t sure. It looked interesting and it was four bucks, so hey why not?
Do I really need the other half of the Moka pot just to froth milk? I picked up a 3-cup pot (smaller than the Cappuccinatore) so I can make espresso.
It looks like it would work as is. I want to make sure it can vent steam before I use it.
The thing you have purchased is complete as-is. I own one and it works pretty well for frothing milk. Steam will vent from the top and also from the small vent hole on the side.
Chefguy it’s complete? I’ve never seen a stand alone frother. Pardon me 1kBR Kid! We have like 10 (dead) Mokas round here 3 with the attachments but all are coffee +frother so looked like you only had half of one. Have switched to the hand held plunger type frothers now . Thankfully Mr Chatty isn’t a cappo purist
Slight hedge Well, I’ll say this much: the kitchen supply place where I bought it sold it as a stand-alone frother.
