i just found out that my SO has never learned how to write his cursive capital letters. he says his teachers taught the lower-case ones, but never the upper case. his reasoning is that they must have thought it was a waste of time. this doesnt make much sense to me. i mean, 99% of school can be considered a waste of time,why spare kids the handwriting lessons? besides, writing is something the majority of people are going to use to some chicken-scratch extent or another. why wouldnt his teachers have taught the upper case capital letters?

has this happened to anyone else?

i’m tempted to say “or what…” but I do agree. I mean, unless the school is training future e. e. cummings…why bother with training them to write cursive at all?

Maybe they just figured, “Hey, why bother? They’ll just type everything in lower case anyway.”

Just round off the print capitals so they’ll look cursive.
