Is this wierd, or what??????

Olive and I worked a wedding reception tonight. Not one, but TWO of the guests at one of my tables has the same name I do. I’m not related to the guests at all.

Stranger facts:

I have 4 children - 2 boys, 2 girls. He has 4 children- 2 boys, 2 girls.

His namesake is a bit of a rebel. So is my namesake (usually referred to in the family as the “Rebel Without A Clue”)

His father was in the same line of work as MY father!

He is a small business owner. I was a small business owner.

We have a number of acquaintences with the same name (“Do you know Joe Smith?” “Yes, went to school with him.” “Must not be the same one. How about John Jones?” “Yes, I worked with him in NYC.” “Nope, not the same one. He works in Hartford.”

The event planner saw the name and purposely assigned me that table. It was wierd!!!

“Don’t try to out-weird me. I get weirder things than you with my breakfast cereal.” --Zaphod

When I went to pick up my college diploma (I skipped graduation in favor of going to Florida), they tried to give me four other guys’ diplomas first. That means that at least five different people with the same name (one even had the same middle name) not only graduated at the same time as me (from a not over-large university), but also skipped graduation. The one with the same middle name as me was also in engineering and had the same honors notation on his diploma, but he wasn’t in the same department as I was. Two of the others were engineering grads as well.

Oh, yeah–the point of my little anecdote was that, yes, it’s a weird little coincidence, but far weirder ones happen.

Besides, it let me get in a Douglas Adams quote.
