Is throwing up necessary?

Dogs can vomit when they’re sick, but in the wild canids regurgitate previously swallowed food to feed their puppies. So dogs have a reason to upchuck besides just “I’m sick” and this may result in them being able to puke at will, or at least much more easily than a human.

Theobromine poisoning.

I can confirm that cats have *no *problem vomiting. Personally, I have felt queasy a few times, but have actually vomited only once in the past 40 years (probably due to mild food poisoning).

Eating a big box of chocolate pralines in one go takes its toll.

Thanks.

I’m curious about this. What canids feed their young this way? I’m under the impression that mammals do NOT feed their young this way, since they don’t have to - they produce their own food for the young. Can you direct me to some information about that? Thanks. xo, C

 That’s the first time here I’ve ever seen “love and kisses” as a sign off. It’s sweet. Maybe it will start a trend.

No Rodney Dangerfield jokes?

*Is it necessary to vomit?

After eating my wife’s cooking? Absolutely!*

I am skeptical of the idea that it helps from things like food poisoning.

How long is it from ingestion to throwing up most of the time?

When I had food poisoning, I did not throw up until several hours later. By that time, I assume most of the offending material had moved out of the stomach and into the rest of my system.

I’ve tried arguing with my stomach that the process was unecessary, and it somehow failed to impress.

When a dog licks your face, it could be he’s hoping you cough up a tasty snack:
