Is time travel possible?

I remember reading a column about whether or not time travel is possible(I’m sure another doper can find the URL). I’m still a little confused. I have a long corridor in my basement that connects one part of my house to the other. It usually takes me about three minutes to walk from one part to the other, due in part to my multiple sclerosis. The thing is that whenever I get to the other side of it, I’m three minutes into the future. Do I have a time machine?

Whooshiosity notwithstanding, time travel - forward or backward - is defined as travel that is not at the rate of plus one second per second in the local reference frame.

What rate is it defined as?

Most any other time frame.

Yes, I suppose this answers my question. TY.
