Is trolling against the rules in the pit?

:dubious:

“The OP of that thread was a troll, and was seeking to get people to call him names.”

Actually, he was complaining about the name calling and asking people to stop it:

"If he gets annoyed by not being called names, that’s an ideal outcome. "
Aren’t you then recognizing then that the recipe threadshitting was meant to rile him up? That beheaviour had obviously the intention of disrupting the conversation started by the OP.

“I fail to see how refusing to post profanity can be considered disruptive.”
Profanities have nothing to do with trolling, for example someone who drops in a Holocaust remembrance thread and post “Hitler did nothing wrong” just to cause trouble hasn’t used any profanities but sure as heck it is trolling.

I very much doubt, if things were reversed, that sort of behaviour would pass muster, for example a Republican would go into the “Stupid Republican Idea of the Day” and called in others to utterly disrupt it by flooding it with, I don’t know… idle chat about guns and ammo.

Frankly, the sooner more people have Septimus epiphany the better.

Exactly my point a couple posts up. I seriously doubt spamming recipes would go over well as a general principle in the Pit. Double standards but their board their rules right?

He was very clearly a troll, which is why he was banned. It wasn’t over that thread alone, many other threads and posts by him were fairly obvious trolling.

From the OP of this thread:

Since the poster in question is now no longer with us, I’m going to close this topic as the question/issue has been resolved. If anyone still has any further questions as to why anyone was banned over the last few days, though, feel free to PM a mod.
