We’re thinking of switching from our present wired phone service to Vonage, which would cost half of what we pay now. Does anyone have good/bad experience with Vonage? Would you recommend it?
I’ve been using Vonage for about 2 years now. I work from home, so I’m on the phone a LOT. No problems, except the occasional busy signal that shouldn’t be there (dialing a conference # or something). A redial gets it through.
There are cheaper services out there, but I’m happy with these guys.
I’ve had Vonage for about five years, now (if not longer). I’ve never had a major problem. No complaints.
I was perfectly happy with the quality of service, what bugged me was that when I started, it was about $15 and two years later it was up to $20. By that time, cell phone reception was much better in my house (especially in my basement) and the only reason we got it is because the (now ex) wife was scared of going into labor and not having a working cell phone.
If you get it, and you don’t have a cell phone, I’d strongly suggest putting your modem, router and vonage box on a battery backup so you can still use it in the event of a power outage.
