Is your Playstation 2 online?

Hey everyone. I’m going to get a network adaptor for my PS2. Does anyone in here recommend it? Also, what game or games should I get with it? Thanks for your input!

If you like the shooters the SOCOM series is supposed to be pretty cool. Personally, I play Madden, and Final Fantasy XI. We’ve run a madden league at my website the last two years, which is pretty fun unless you’re team is terrible (I was the Texans the first year).

Oh, my. My son plays Everquest with my brother, who is in Washington state. It’s a way for them to stay in touch, although I literally have to turn the PS2 off to get him away from that blasted game. (There’s a reason they call it Evercrack)

Horrible HORRIBLE thing if you’ve only got a dial up connection. The spoiled little snot is the whole reason we went to DSL. And got a router. :stuck_out_tongue:

SOCOM II online is an absolute blast. I can’t stop playing it!

PS2 online hinges on whether or not you like SOCOM 2 online. There’s other games available online, sure, but none worth buying the NA for. However, if you do like SOCOM 2, I’d reccomend you also pick up Champions of Norrath. It’s a fun distraction from SOCOM 2, and has much replayability. Look it up at www.gamespot.com. I also reccomend you look me up on SOCOM 2 if you choose to get it. My username is JoeSki, and I normally play from 11:00pm-3:00am or so eastern time.

Liar. I’m lucky to see you on twice a month. Then again, I do play at some pretty crazy hours… Have you developed a SOCOM schedule that you stick to yet, or are you still just playing whenever you get the chance?

Oh yeah, if you are going to get the NA+SOCOM 2, you need a mic. It makes the game tons more fun, makes it easier to create strategies with your team, and saves lives. People without mics are a nuiscance. I don’t even players into my clan unless they have a mic.

And although SOCOM 2 might be the only game worth buying the NA for at the moment, there are some games on the horizon that are going to be online that should be great. Killzone for instance.

The only downside to micing (and my PS/2 isn’t online, but I have XBox Live and imagine it’s about the same) is you realize what a bunch of dorks you (and everyone else) sound like…

Heh … yeah, still whenever I can. I haven’t been able to get on since I did a couple of hours on Wednesday afternoon when I went home sick from work. I’m hoping to be able to fit in an hour or two this afternoon. Judging by my work schedule over the next couple of weeks, it’s not looking good for a lot of play time, though! Damn clients …

God, I never thought I’d be one of you dorks  but lately I’ve found myself playing Final Fantasy XI. I’m prepared to check the skies for airborne swine, because I believed for eons that FF was way too big a game for me and playing online was for freaks and I’d never, ever do either.

I blame the forest hares.

I was part of the Beta test for the NA. Played it for a bit, confirmed that I don’t like playing with strangers on PS2 any more than I like it on the PC. (which is to say, not at all.) Shipped it back. When my complementary release version arrived, I sold it on ebay without opening it.

Now that FFXI is online, I’m considering maybe getting a new NA. But since I want to finish FFIX and play FFX and X-2 first, by the time I play FFXI, everyone will have probably left.
