ISRAEL IN CONFLICT IS ABOUT TO COME TO AN END, Lets say peace by 3-20-2013
The world is changing quickly for the betterment of all mankind, and we in the USA are the leaders for the betterment of the world so lets get busy, and clean it up. lets learn to love our neighbors as ourselves, do to them as we wouod have them to do to us. Which is nothing but good. Americans must love one another, and bring othersd into thst loving family relationship. This is one Nation Under God isn’t it?
So-we claim, and we are the greatrwest Nation on the planet earth, so let us be God’s insturment for the good of all mankind…
Think not what your br-others and sis-others can do for you, but, what you can do for your br-others, and sis-others.
“It’s a thing called love”
Tell me this are we not all humans, members of the same family, the human family did we not all start from the same two humans, If you will go back 1000 years and check your fsmily tree, you will find that (we) you have 138, billion relatives, which is more humans than are slive or have ever lived. why do w want to murder our brothers and sisters, every human alive is no more than 13th cousins removed from each other mostly less.
Are we all insane or is it just our leaders, the leaders of the Nations of the earth…
This is a debate forum. Splattering a thread with platitudes will not stop the hostility and does nothing to promote the actual discussion.
If you have nothing of substance to contribute regarding the actual issues being debated, then you should probably refrain from posting in this thread.
Further, your game playing with overly large and non-standard fonts is simply irritating, so I would strongly urge you to back off on that sort of grandstanding, as well.
Since Steophan never answered the question, I will offer my own response:
In the Middle East, there is no principled way to claim that a particular territory belongs to some group of people and not to some other group which happens to be living there or which lived there in the past.
People throw around phrases like “Palestinian Land” or “their own land,” but when challenged, they are never able to provide a principled definition for these phrases.
They are never able to describe the boundaries of “Palestinian Land.”
Nor are they able to explain why land never becomes “Jewish Land” even if Jews live there for generations, but if those same Jews are ethnically cleansed and the land occupied by Palestinian Arabs, the same land becomes “Palestinian Land” forever.
In short, phrases like “their own land,” disguise bias as a moral argument.
People who care about the facts and don’t like silly and/or offensive stereotypes. Considering joining us.
Foolish, fallacious, fictional, yes. Also bad.
We’re all ‘over’ the fact that you’re spouting silly nonsense about how “Jews stand out” when you’re so obviously wrong. We’re just pointing out that you’re factually incorrect. That you don’t mind being utterly and embarrassingly wrong is your issue, not anybody else’s.
And yet again, I’ll offer you a wager if you have anything resembling the courage of your convictions. I’ll choose 100 photos. 2 of them will be of Jews, which is a proportional representation based on American demographics. You get two guesses. For each right answer, I pay you $100. For each wrong answer, you pay me $100. If you’re feeling really generous, let’s up the wager to $1,000 per guess. I could use the money.
Do you truly believe what you’re saying, or are you just spouting nonsense that sounds good to you at the moment? Take the bet if you’re not just blowing smoke.
In two separate threads several people have repeatedly insisted that Jews somehow “stand out” in contrast to other ethnic groups and somehow don’t assimilate the way other groups do, yet none have come up with any examples or evidence.
They haven’t provided any evidence to suggest that they attend Temple or Synagogue to a greater extent than say Catholics, in fact, I suspect the reality would be they attend religious services far less.
They haven’t provided any evidence that Jewish Americans are more likely to speak Yiddish or Hebrew more than Americans of Italian, Korean, or Portugese descent speak the languages of the countries their ancestors came from.
And, of course they have shown any evidence that Jews rarely engage in interfaith marriages in comparison to say Catholics.
I don’t know about the UK or France, but in the US I’d hazard a guess that they’d engage in interfaith marriages far more often than do Catholics and suspect the same is true in the UK and France.
In fact, I suspect for Jews under the age of 35, outside of Israel, interfaith marriages are the norm not the exception.
Yes, but Yog is certain that Jews are an Other who always stand out. The fact that he can’t explain how or why this is is irrelevant. He has Judged the issue, Previously.
If the world wants to take action against tyrannical government, Israel is waaaay down the list. You could start with, say, every other nation in the Middle East (save Turkey), for instance.
I’ve never seen the power of oil produced as a reason for Israel’s continued existance before. Considering that this power is in the hands of Israel’s enemies, it’s a bit of a stretch.
Mind you, for the serious student of the area, the recent discovery of natural gas under the med. in a location disputed between Israel and its ally Cyprus on the one hand and Turkey on the other poses interesting problems.
