I think me might agree on:
The Bad Guys are really, really pissed off and they will continue to be pissed off no matter what.
It is really, really important that Israel be around the next time they try to put us into ovens.

I guess only time will tell. I think there was a surprising amount of success in other such efforts in the pass, for example the disarming of Saddam Hussein. There was much maligning going on, but a huge amount of stuff was actually confiscated and destroyed in the early 90s.
Pass should be past in the above post.
Sorry Paul, what you were quoting was sarcasm, guess I didn’t make that clear enough :).
I was thinking more of the effort the USAF and Navy spent on hunting scuds with aircraft. The Israelis were going to go after them if the USA couldn’t take them out. Is Israel using a lot of aircraft hunting rocket launchers in Lebanon? That may be their primary objective now, if they were unaware of the range of rockets Hezboalh had available.
What do you expect, Hassan Nasrallah giving a candid interview to Barbara Walters and saying “I have to admit, Barbara, I really didn’t expect the Zionists to go as far as they did”? Of course Hizballah won’t admit surprise. But just consider the situation:
The entire Hizballa compound in Southern Beirut has been reduced to rubble, including Hizballa HQ and the personal homes of all the leaders.
Israel is still attacking after a week of fighting. We haven’t gone on such a large-scale campaign in decades; nobody’s even talking about a ceasefire.
Artillary and short range incursions have utterly demolished all Hizballah outposts along the Israeli border. Even if they do return there, they’ll have to spend a lot of time and money rebuilding - not that Israel intends to let them. In effect, they’ve been demoted from army back to guerilla force.
Israel blew up the Hizballah Museum! Heh heh heh.
They tried to launch a Frog-7 missile from Beirut yeaterday, and got blown up for their efforts (that was that bogus “F-16 crash” you may have heard of). That couldn’t have been part of the plan.
Israeli public support of the ampaign stands at 81%, according to today’s polls. Nassrallah had constantly spoken of the weakness of Israeli society. No such weakness is evident.
Although American support for Israel was expected, European nations have been giving us tacit approval. Just about everybody blames the Hizballah for the hostilities. This is almost without precident.
Even worse, no Arab nation except Syria has come out in their support; in fact, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan of accused Hizballah of “adventurism” and hold them responsible for the crisis. Have you ever heard of an Arab nation siding with the Jews before? In haven’t, and I’d like to see you explain how that was part of Hizballah’s plan.
Even if they’re not surprised now, they will be when Israel kills them (and if they aren’t, who cares? Dead is dead). Do you really think Nasrakllah will ever be able to stick his head above ground without getting it blown off?
No, as far as Israel is concerned, things are looking pretty good. And if Syria want’s to join the party, t’fadal.
(Incidently, Paul, you need to get out of Saudi. Hanging around that bunch of lazy, cowardly, pampered mysoginists isn’t doing an American boy like you any good).
Remarkably, not all Saudis are lazy, pampered misogynist cowards. That is a crude generalization. (Although I admit I know quite a few who match your description.) Still, underestimating the other fellow is a rookie mistake.
Hizballah may very well be surprised by the size of the ass-whooping Israel has inflicted. Still, I see no real sign of that. It may or may not be true. Until I have evidence, I will withhold my judgement.
Europe is giving Israel tacit approval? Heck the Saudis are giving you tacit approval! That is another reason for me to suspect we are all dancing to Iran’s tune. The Gulf Arabs are all freaked out, so I suppose Hizballah is acting in someone else’s interests. I suspect that someone is Iran. No real proof of course, just a hunch.
By the time I read down there it was asking me if I would like to date Jewish girls…
“Deep discounts on rockets”.
Cool.
Google now offers fly killers, pheremone information and plant defence?
Man, this war is heading in all sorts of strange directions I don’t want to know about
“Jewish girls in your area.”
No thanks, got one.
Is the sky green, too? Maybe we’re just imagining the rockets. Or they’ve been made up by the Jewish media in a conspiracy that eventually ends with them taking over the world?
To be fair, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, though nasty places as far as I’m concerned and not nations I would feel safe in as an American Jew, seem about as close to modernity and democracy as the Arabic nations in the Middle East get (Egypt in particular). Egypt and Jordan are allied with Israel and the United States (well, Jordan may not be allied with the US, but I know Egypt is). Saudi Arabia is allied with the United States. I don’t see how those three nations’ condemnation of Hezbollah is particularly surprising, although obviously you’re a lot closer to the action. Was there sentiment in Israel that any of those three countries would support Hezbollah or stay mum on the issue?
Just to be clear, are you saying that Syria is expected to join Hezbollah in its fight against Israel?
What does the sign say on the picture of air force personnel preparing weapons?
I can identify the letters and that’s it.
Thanks!
Actually no. I’m saying that usually things happen because of a previous encounter. It’s a sad circumstance that led this situation to where it is now. Unfortunately, the genesis of the problem might be tribal warfare stemming from almost literally the beginning of time. I don’t buy the story from either side, to be perfectly honest.
“As blue as the sky
As white as freedom.”
Probably the result of some sergeant major’s plan of “base beautification”. Leave no fence unpainted!
Thanks!
