Perhaps it would be helpful if you specified which model in particular you are talking about? I am unaware of any sales of JDAM or JSOW to Israel, although the JDAM is not a particularly high tech piece of machinery.

I don’t have a clue. CNN and other media report they are using “LASER and satellite guided bombs”. That may be an error in reporting.

Specifically the Government of Israel has requested a possible sale of:

–5,000 Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) tail kits (which include 2,500 GBU-31 for MK-84, 500 GBU-31 for BLU-109, 500 GBU-32 for MK-83, and 1,500 GBU-30 for MK-82 bombs)

Of the possible GPS system the Israeli’s could use, Glonass is in bad shape, and Galileo is in the future, which leaves the US system as the only game in town. Unless of course the Israelis launched themselves a secret mini-gps that’s also compatible with the JDAM hardware.
