It comes down to "FLOHVA" does that mean our system works or not?

In terms of surface area, it would seem that three smaller states get to decide this thing. Does this mean the entire system is working?

I can’t be the only one wondering why three states get to pick the president for the other 47, can I?

There is something wrong here.

Granted, the other stated need to cancel each other out, but I am upset with the entire situation in the first place. We shouldn’t be having a monster such as FLOHVA in the first place.

I should not feel like my vote has less value than someone who lives in FLOHVA.

Why do I have this wrong? Or do I?

The swing states are getting all the attention because all the other states are much more committed to one candidate or the other. They’re not getting to pick the president any more than CA and NY are, it’s just the way the electorate falls this year. It’s simply an inevitable result of the electoral college.

They don’t. Your state’s electoral votes add to the tally just like those from FL, OH, VA, CO, et al. Your state just presumably has a majority of voters from a select partisan make-up that which tally they’ll add to isn’t in question.

If there hadn’t have been a single poll taken anywhere, every state would be a swing state.

I like people from California, whose state has 1/5 of the votes needed to win the Presidency, complaining that their vote doesn’t “count.” Just because one candidate will receive vastly fewer votes than the other guy doesn’t mean your vote doesn’t count.

Ohio and Virginia together have produced over 1/3 of our presidents, maybe we should get a larger say.

I get enough political ads as is.

Mine wouldn’t. Nor would a few others.

Except for 1964, when we voted for our neighbor, we haven’t gone Democrat in over 6 decades.

I don’t think they even bother to poll here.
