It happened again...Elderly driver loses control

This time in Florida.

At least no one was killed in this one.

oops. I posted an extra thread called Not again

Of course, during the last month, no one under the age of 70 has had a single car accident, thank goodness.

What magnetic force exuded by farmers’ markets is attracting cars driven by old folks?

Me, I’m sticking with canned and frozen.

Apparently shark attacks are passe. Perhaps this can take the place as America’s next great epidemic.

Well put Eve! I’m beginning to wonder if older people having accidents is going to be the next media sensation.

Damn funniest thing I’ve read all day. Thanks.

Kinda fits in with the racing hysteria.

Warning: Great White approaching.

Please. Old people driving is a known hazard that’s been around since…umm, old people started driving. This is why no young people live out in Sun City, the distinct risk of losing your life any time you drive out there.
I’m all for age profiling, making people who are past a certain age test much more often to keep their license. Like, yearly. When was the last time you heard of a young person doing something like this when they were not under the influence of some sort of substance, or dicking around with the stereo/makeup/cell phone? Happens to the elderly without any such distractions. I know, it’s a very very small fraction of the elderly, but it’s still there.
Of course, I will be very much against this when I am a bitter, resentful old man and will say “damn kids!” all the time (difference between then and now being that I am not yet old), but we’ll deal with that when we come to it.

Bingo.

My co-worker mentioned that…he thought old people plowed into crowds all the time, it’s just you never hear about it.

I would contend elderly drivers have accidents, but mowing down pedestrians is rather rare.

He also mentioned Laci Peterson…surely she’s not the first pregnant woman to be murdered? Why all the media attention?

Just a note: I read the link: 70 years old (my mom’s age), Northern Florida (where Mom & Dad went yesterday for the 50th anniversary)… I had to call my mom’s cell phone and check on them.
