It is a truth universally acknowledged,

that any tune without a fretless bass and a saxophone is in
need of a fretless bass and a saxophone.

I love the sound of the fretless bass, big fan of Jaco Pastorius among others that said, I view it as more limited in versatility in the sounds one can make with a bass with frets on it. After a while it just sort of sounds all blurred together and hard to differentiate.

I also love the live version of Dave Matthews Band - Two Step that has some nice fretless bass action.

Get a load of this !

Nice it sounds cool I guess it just comes down to preference.

I really love Steve Bailey here, I actually like his fretless bass here better than Vic Wooten, tho I do consider Wooten one of if not the best bassist of all time.

Ava Maria does not need a saxophone. REBUKED!

For some reason I love pretty much every song in the 50s and 60s with sax, but absolutely loathe any sax used in the 70s and 80s - Except by Madness. Who doesn’t love Madness?

Probably Vyvyan.

Aw, man, I was expecting this:
:smile:

Exception also for X-Ray Spex!

Yes. It does actually.
(And i can prove it.)

@DeathPool : Cool, thanks!
@burpo_the_wonder_mutt : i like it ! :grin:

And The Rezillos!

I’m one of those Philistines who prefers a good sax solo over a good guitar solo, but then my music preference has always been punk/post-punk, new wave, alternative, and the like, as opposed to classic rock, heavy metal, hair metal, etc. Lately I have been exploring ska: I came for the horns, and stayed for the energy!

Did i say cool ?
I meant f___ing brilliant !
(How the f___ have i not heard of steve bailey ?!?!)
