“As a practicing attorney for another two years or so” is an extremely awkward sentence. What does the “another” indicate there? Are you planning on only practicing for a further two years? Do you still have two years before you open a practice?
Heh. Czarcasm’s in charge of whether this a friendly or cutthroat debate. I don’t remember the exchange, but I’m guessing he picked cutthroat eh, and that’s why you started telling a bunch of people you never met that they have no purpose in life, are listless, that they should do useless things you think they need to do, like starting churches, and basically insulting people left and right?
Right. You have too much to do. That’s why you’ve been posting here 9 times a day since you joined two months ago.
Although the “not thinking too much while posting” part could explain a lot.
As I pointed out, just up-thread a bit, I’m starting to see reasons to suspect he isn’t a practicing Christian, either, and for similar reasons. He didn’t address that.
So pchaos, what denomination are you?
Link, please?
Actually, I started that thread with good intentions, I thought that I was helping the atheists become more organized. Then it turned out that I got both the atheists and the theists mad at me.
Holy arrogance, Batman!
Do us a favor? Don’t help.
“helping the atheists become more organized”???!!! Are you this condescending in real life?
Yet, you care enough to respond - back up your claim that you are an ‘attorney’ - nothing you have posted suggests that you even have the capability to be one.
what the fuck makes you think you could help anyone be more organized? your posts show that even you are not organized in your own thoughts AND you disagree with major tennets of your own ‘faith’.
You are a condescending jackass.
(which might be the best proof that you have some ‘lawyer’ in you as well)
Okay, in high school I read Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, I also have read some about her philosophy of Objectivism. But I don’t consider her philosophy to be sufficiently coherent.
Atheism appeals to the mind and that simply is not enough to me and many theists.
Religion appeals to the heart and soul of man that is it’s advantage. That’s what makes it a coherent philosophy and world view.
So coherent there are never wars fought over the ‘right’ religion? how about splits in local churches/congregations over the “coherent philosophy”?
So coherent that you agree with EVERYTHING?
He exhibits multiple signs of psychopathy. (IANACP)
Really? What kind (area, field, specialty, whatever the appropriate term is) of law do you practice?
You know what? I don’t buy it, the idea that you only had good intentions. Because you’re still saying the same damn things that got people mad at you. The posts you made yesterday, you’re still saying things like atheists don’t have relevance, don’t have a coherent philosophy, despite people telling you what their philosophy is (in good faith that you’re serious.) You’re still spouting inane quips and pretending you’ve scored some kind of point. You seem to have this great need to win, to prove (to yourself, 'cause you’re not proving it to anyone else here) that you’re better than those godless atheists, because by golly, you have a PURPOSE. And you offered those poor ignorant heathens your help, and by golly they rejected it, but what can you expect from heathens, anyway? So heavy is the Christian man’s burden, hmm?
You want to demonstrate good intentions? Apologise for insulting people and then STOP INSULTING PEOPLE. We have nothing to learn from you, except as an example of “don’t be a condescending asshole like that guy.”
It’s true that Osama Bin Laden and Islamist extremists have caused wars to break out. But the basic teachings of Islam and other religions focus a great deal on humility, it is important that religious people realize that they really are no more than “servants of God.”
I do hope you take those blinders off when you drive. Also, again and still-What type of law do you practice?
Oh - are you saying Christian faith has never started/caused wars? Ever heard of the crusades? the inquisition? etc?
You avoided the rest of the question(s) in the post as well.
Out of idle curiosity, how many times has this been asked of pchaos on this board?
I apologize. And your right, there’s a need to win.
In my heart, I’ve always felt that there were many people that were just as smart as attorneys, if not smarter. But the reason some people chose the profession of law and others didn’t, was because the attorneys were simply more competitive.
