Children should bury their parents. The alternative is heartbreaking.

It happened in my family, the immediate impact lasted for almost twenty years, it took the arrival and growth of the next two generations of our family to finally heal the wound. Just because it was once common and expected doesn’t make it natural.

It’s the most unnatural thing no matter how old the child, the cause of death or what time in history it happens.
My cousin died in a freak accident at age 20. My aunt and uncle were never the same; nor were my grandparents who lived with the family. Death may be natural but “timing” is everything.
