I was at a three hour assesment yesterday and when it was done, the therapist asked “Why aren’t you using a walker? You should have had one months ago.”
So I ordered one, it will be here in a couple of days. I tried to find one with Ben-Hur wheel-spikes, no luck, oh well.
And just in case I needed cheering up, my buddy sent me a link to The Star Wars Holiday Special, which I had never seen.
I’m an MS researcher, and for what it’s worth, I think my lab is on to something pretty important. The drug around the concept is currently in early development.
I have a friend with MS. It took her a while to find the right drugs, but her treatment has been very successful. I hope yours is as well, and that you are able to keep your positive outlook.
There is some interesting MS work on the horizon, but a publication in Nature is a long long way from a trial. The interesting research that I know of involves suppressing the T17 helper cells. Scripps recently published this in Nature.
I’m not a pharmaceutical chemist, so I won’t pretend to understand it, but I do like to read various pharmaceutical blogs to see what developments are on the way. I am curious about what fiveyearlurker might be doing and if it is genuinely a new approach. Of course, I understand proprietary issues from my own field, so I understand if he/she must hold their tongue.
