I definitely can’t say more than I have, but the schedule has us in Phase 1 by late next year. Publication was an afterthought, and we held off until we were quite late into the data. Still, best case it would be five years off from the clinic, but it all stemmed from a crazy idea and an experiment that had no business working several years ago.
Fingers crossed.
Yes, one of the intriguing points about the disease is that the rates are higher in the high north latitudes in the northern hemisphere, and the high south latitudes in the southern hemisphere, as shown on this map.
Canada has one of the highest MS rates overall, and the province of Saskatchewan has the highest MS rate in Canada. However, no-one can determine why the disease has this distribution pattern.
Best wishes, BMalion! Hope you find a good treatment that helps.
Thanks. If this is the worst, I can live with it.
'Course, if it’s not the worst, I will have to live with that as well.
It’s always easy to imagine ways things could get worse. Here’s hoping you never have to!
“Could be raining.”
That’s a custom mod. I wonder if the Pimp My Ride folks might be interested :D.
Glad your Christmas was a good one!!!
Thank you. And today I turn 51 years old. ![]()
Yippee!
Got your card today. Thanks!
Happy birthday! Least Original User Name Ever said to wish large, hairy spiders on your head for your birthday!
Ha!
Beat me to the punch - happy birthday, BMalion! Here’s to many more in even better health!
Thank you all.
Got my walker today.
Yay! And wishes you a Happy Belated Birthday!!
Is it one of those ones with wheels on 2 legs and rubber feet on the other two?
If you really want to weird people out, mod it so the wheels are both on the left and the pegs on the right (or vice versa). OK, no, not with one you’re gonna USE, but if you ever happen upon a secondhand one that you want to have around and use on good days, to mess with people’s minds… :D.
I think you should take it by an auto paint shop that does custom paint jobs and see if they can jazz it up for you :). There was a recent thread that mentioned a lady that does snazzy paint jobs on Kitchenaid mixers, as well - surely she could fix a walker for you. And if you know anyone who’s handy with metalworking I’m sure some wheel spikes could be had. I tried looking for funky walker wheels online but while there were a number of choices out there, they came in gray, gray, or gray. Oh well.
It’s a Deluxe Rollator Four Wheeled Rolling Walker.
So much for my suggestion for weirding people out
But that thing looks quite useful. Sucks to need it, but I’d bet it’ll make getting around a lot easier.
Do you have a handicapped plate / hangtag yet? If not - get one! Your doctors should be pretty familiar with the paperwork. I used one, a handful of times, when I broke my foot a few months back. While there was a certain amount of “I’m not gonna use that thing!” pride, there were a couple of times where I just could not have made it to the door of wherever I was going. Of course a couple of times where I really needed to use it, there were no spaces available! Anyway, in your case, I can imagine that the fatigue from fighting to get somewhere without using the handicapped spots would be bad for you.
A BMalion even more mobile and maneuverable than he was before? Ladies beware!
I do have a handicap placard.
And believe me, I am no danger to the ladies.
