My first thought was Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne; a trip to IMDB showed that they were married from 1922 to 1977 (55 years). That’ll be hard to beat.

I liked them together and am not ashamed to admit it. I thought they’d make it and it sucks that they didn’t but at least it’s amicable.
Considering that Melissa Etheridge said she’d be happy to have Brad Pitt’s baby, I’d say the bar’s been set pretty low on his fatherhood prospects.
Jimmy Stewart was married to his wife for some incredible amount of time too.

I doubt this is anywhere near the record but Mel Brooks and Ann Bancroft will have been married 40 years in August. Maybe they can set the record…they are my favorite celeb couple.

It’s too bad. I thought they were lovely together, but apparently he wanted a passel of kids, and I don’t recall her ever talking about having more than one or two, if any. Major differences.
