"It should have been me!!" or former co-stars of the now rich & famous

Two pages before a mention of Peter Best?

For all you yunguns out there, he was the original drummer of the original Beatles, dumped for Ringo Starr right before fame & fortune.

You know, a normal guy would use this as an opportunity for a “How you doin’?”
Sooo, how you doin’? G

He had a gender reassignment and became a women’s figure skater.

(Actually, I felt old to learn he’s a grandfather.)

Obvious catch, AX - I guess I assume that since there was no way he could’ve stayed on - George Martin would not produce the Beatles with him as the drummer since he couldn’t keep time - I didn’t consider him.

As you no doubt well know, he was recently the topic of a cool thread here…

Actually, he was mentioned on the first page.

Haj

I’d be hard-pressed to pick which Tap member is more successful – Shearer’s got his radio show and the Simpsons (for which I’m sure he makes much more money than your average voice actor), Guest has directed three very highly acclaimed films (and is an English baron or something, to boot), and Michael McKean is one of the most ubiquitous faces in TV and movies (plus he’s married to Annete O’Toole as mentioned).

Well if we’re going by marriages let’s not forget that Guest is married to Jamie Lee Curtis.

She’s not aged well.

You say that in a thread that’s also discussing Mark Hammill???

:dubious:

Let’s not forget the curse of Steven Bochco.

Hill Street Blues – Betty Thomas became a director, and that’s about it.

St. Elsewhere – Denzel Washington’s career exceeded everyone else’s (including Mark Harmon and William Daniels) combined

L.A. Law – turned out to be the high point for the entire cast

Cop Rock and Bay City Blues – forget them completely.

I don’t know if everyone who has been in a series with Ted McGinley should be envious or grateful.

Dennis Franz did 10-11 seasons on NYPD Blue, also a Bochco show. Charles Haid went on to be a director as well.

Howie Mandel isn’t exactly starving either, though it’s true that none of them had quite the career Washington managed.

Well, Jimmy Smits was also on NYPD Blue for several years, and he had small roles in Star Wars Episodes 2 & 3. Harry Hamlin recently had a recurring, pivotal role on Veronica Mars and has been around in other things. Alan Rachins played Dharma’s hippie father on *Dharma & Greg * for several years. There are quite a few decent careers among that show’s many, many cast members.

From Cop Rock: Vondie Curtis-Hall was on *Chicago Hope * for several years and has done plenty of screenwiritng & directing. Paul McCrane spent several years dodging helicopters on ER.

From Bay City Blues: a quick perusal of its IMDb listing gives me Pat Corley (Phil from Murphy Brown), Dennis Franz again, Ken Olin from Thirtysomething, Mykelti Williamson (best known as Bubba from Forrest Gump), Peter Jurasik from Babylon 5 and some chick named Sharon Stone.

I can’t agree with this–after all, zero times a googleplex is still zero!

Really, though, if they were going for stunning sex appeal, then yes, they could have stopped with Patrick Stewart. The man is HOT!

Gordon Scott starred as Tarzan in several mid-late 50s entires in the series, including “Tarzan The Magnificent.” He then segued to awful Italian gladiator movies before his career dried up in the mid-60s. He’s a heck of a nice guy (met him at autograph shows a couple times), but still I wonder what he thinks of the skinny young lad with the thinning hair and thick Scottish brogue to played a third-banana villain in that film. Sean Something was the guy’s name…

Never had the heart to ask Gordon.

Sir Rhosis

Whoa, when was Jack Burns on SNL? And how embarrassing? Details!!

Okay, I inexplicably completely forgot about NYPD Blue and Smits and Franz.

But going back to the OP, I still say it’s Denzel Washington vs. everyone else.

Another Steven Bochco show, Murder One, was the first place I saw Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson.

Best. TV. Show. Ever. /mandatory Murder One gush

He flubbed his lines several time and said something to the effect of “Lorne’s going to have my ass for this”. Today you could practically use the word ass as part of the title of a kid’s show, but at the time it was against FCC code.

This photo shows three girls. Amy Linker is the one I would consider the costar; she dropped off the face of the earth 3 years later. The third girl, Tracy Nelson, has been woriking steadily.

Nobody asked, but I am compelled by my love of the movie to identify it as The Girl I Want. If memory serves, it features, among other great moments, a car chase in a Honda Civic.
