itch. Ick

Uh oh, Cecil, you missed the point here. We had a major outbreak of scabies in the public school in the small town I lived in in “sunrise county” Maine. The outbreakwas eventually tracked to the single laundromat in the middle of town. The thrifty owners were maintaining water and dryer temperatures somewhat below levels required to kill the critters–below the legal standard, but there weren’t a lot of laundromat inspectors around. Unfortunately, your minion’s right to worry. With fuel costs at record highs, he better hope for good hot dryers.

Happened at dawn and now it truly can happen.

Hi, er…what article are you referencing?

The washday blues: Is it safe to wash clothing at the laundromat? is my guess.

A notable public service, posting the column so early. Those of us in the west of the US may otherwise have wanted to wash our clothes publicly before dawn on Friday.

I noticed that the first diease mentioned was schistosomiasis. For some reason, references to this parasitic infection popped up in a number of sitcoms in the 1970s.
