Well said!
Hats off to your kindness, courage AND intelligent action, Gotlift. I’m really glad I got to hear of your extrordinary act of humanness. Proof that just because someone drinks Lo Carb Monster Energy Drink doesn’t mean they’re all bad.
Did they ever catch the driver who hit him? At that time of the morning the driver may have been drunk as well. I can’t imagine even hitting an animal without stopping, much less a human being. Fear of going to jail does awful things to people.
Yeah, not too far from here a couple years ago a woman was essentially torn apart by at least three repeat hits.
Whatever the final outcome, Gotlift, you acted as a righteous mensch. If you have a contact card for one of the police/rescue people, s/he may be able to track down the aftermath.
Thank you for stopping.
Wow, thanks guys! I could only hope that people would help me in a life and death situation.
Depends upon whether or not I’ve had my energy drink.
Why the rollyeyes?
I was ridiculing my post to indicate that I speak in jest.

Gotcha.
This explains so much. You’ve had me very confused with your use of the roll eyes at times.
Ditto!
I think most people use them to indicate that they speak with disdain. I think smilie faces
or
are usually used to indicate jest.
I am an artist, not a blogger!

In carnivorousplant’s defense, the  smilie identifies itself as “ROLL EYES (Sarcastic).” I don’t think I have ever rolled my eyes for sarcasm; disdain seems to actually fit better IRL (think George Clooney in one of those “Ocean’s #” movies–Pitt says something stupid, Clooney rolls his eyes so hard you can hear them), which is why I don’t use that particular smilie.
It’s this independent spirit that makes American great!
Funny how tragedy piques people’s interest. It’s my first night back on shift and even though I was on a different shift on the night of the incident a few people have heard about it so I got the questions. “Did he make it?” “Did they catch anyone?”
Honestly, I’m curious too. There is no mention of it in the news as far as I can tell with a google search. I finally decided to call the police station and inquire about it. The officer who took my call patched me through to the responding officer’s voicemail since he isn’t on shift tonight. I left him a message with my number. I’m very curious as to what he can tell me. I’ll update when I get a call back.
Update. I spoke to a responding officer. Turns out the dumb ass threw himself out of a moving vehicle. They’re still tracking down the driver. Vehicle had an ignition interlock, but they suspect driver was also drunk and probably had drugs, which is why they didn’t turn around. He lived. Now I’m just glad the moron didn’t cause someone else to get hurt trying to avoid hitting him.
