Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

You left out “stoned.” :o

Talented family, with three very different talents.

Aw geez, you’re right. I was mixing Kovacs up with George Reeves. Don’t ask me how. :smack:

No, he’s most definitely correct. It’s pretty obvious.

Yeah, but Ethel Merman deserved a lot more than just slipping on a banana peel.

I liked Scavenger Hunt better than the remake Rat Race. It had quite a few familiar faces in it too.

There seems to be a theme…

I don’t think ***Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines ***was ever supposed to be a knee-slapping yuk-fest. It was more of an action–adventure piece with rollicking comedic overtones.

Plus, it had vintage aircraft and luscious Sarah Miles in period costume. Life doesn’t get much better than that!

Sarah Miles, mmmmmmmmmmm! :o

Vintage aircraft, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! :o :o :o

Look sharp among the extras–Leonard Nimoy & Bill Shatner were both in that film,. along with some very talented actors.

Also the only film to feature both Gert (Goldfinger) Frobe and Benny Hill.

If only those two had decided to team up for the rest of their careers. They would have made cinematic history!

James Rolfe went to the filming locations of Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World and even tried to find “The Big W” location.

This video is well worth the watch and I won’t spoil the ending.

Not true. Both were in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I gather Frobe was know mostly as a comic actor; Goldfinger was quite a departure from his usual roles.

And I’ll stand up for Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies; Peter Cook and Dudley Moore are in it with the very stiffest of upper lips.

…and then there’s Love Actually, with Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, Martin Freeman, Keira Knightley, Rowan Atkinson, et al.

So was Fess Parker, aka Davey Crockett AND Daniel Boone!

I’m trying to remember how old my kids were when we watched it, although they’re five years apart in age, so maybe the boy was seven and the girl was twelve? I do know the boy’s other favorite movie at that time was Duel. He watched it every day.

Outside of Goldfinger I remember him most as a generic German in WWII movies like The Longest Day, Is Paris Burning? and Triple Cross.

Those were the first two movies my dad ever took me to. We’d have a “Guy’s Day” and go to a movie and get banana splits afterward, and feel bad for my mom who was home allll alone (enjoying the quiet, no doubt).

IAMMMMW was my introduction to what makes comedy work. At the beginning when [name redacted, but not really a spoiler] dies, his foot knocks over a pail, and the camera follows it down a hill. The other characters say… nothing.

I whispered to my dad “They forgot to say ‘He kicked the bucket’!” His reply: “It’s funnier this way.”

I pondered that for years…

Ooo, The Cannonball Run. Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett, Dom De Luise, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Adrienne Barbeau, Jackie Chan, Jamie Farr, Peter Fonda, Jack Elam, Bert Convy, Mel Tillis, Bianca Jagger and Jimmy “the Greek” Snyder. All it lacked was being a good movie. The sequel had Frank Sinatra, Shirley MacLaine, Marilu Henner, Telly Sevalas and Sid Caesar as well.

The Expendables franchise

Good video! Anyone notice what the cat is doing when the narrator turns to look behind him and says "That’s it! . . . "
