It's Early winter and Sweet Potato time. Want some?

“Other”…because, never.

Well, once…only to learn I hate 'em.

I eat them at least once a week. One of my favorite foods!

Preach it! Hate those damnéd sweet potato fries. That said, and I haven’t tried this yet, but someone on this board mentioned that a common African snack is sweet potatoes with habanero peppers. Now that I might get on board with. I could see some salty sweet potato fries perhaps going well with a habanero dipping sauce.

It basically tastes like pumpkin pie, especially the way it is usually spiced. In our family, Thanksgiving pies have largely been replaced by sweet potato variants. They are very similar in flavor, but we prefer the sweet potato to the pumpkin version of the pie.

Dogs love sweet potatoes.

How is never not an answer?

About once a week. I like 'em mashed, but they can be a little bland without a crapload of butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, or something. I like to add some cream of coconut (unsweetened if I can find it) and top with some shredded coconut. The sweet potato and coconut flavors go really well together.

They are exceedingly healthy to eat. Sweet potatoes with wild caught salmon and a side of kale, it’s practically a cliche - eat that and you’ll live to be 100. (I love all of this and should really make an effort to eat it more often instead of the bologna sandwich and pint of ice cream I’m currently stuck on). I bake a sweet potato in the microwave, 8 minutes, less if it’s a long skinny garnet yam. When there’s nothing else edible in the house, it’s my go-to.

Sweet potato pie once a year or so, whenever someone brings it to the holiday table. That stuff with marshmallows melted on top of it. That’s it, and that’s only to be polite.
